Japanese “harem” women’s toilet, 18 meters deep, even wider is amazing, why so designed?

Japan is one of the most developed countries in the world. However, Japan is also a strange country. They always produce something that we don’t know about. However, there is another thing that Japan can learn from us: meticulousness.

So, we see a lot of very human design in Japan. Even the buildings are in good order. In ancient times, Japan had very strict requirements for toilets.

When it comes to Japan’s unique toilet culture, it starts with that era. This particular toilet culture originated in Japan during the Shogunate period from 1192 to 1867. It is a feature of this era that the emperor of Japan has no real power.

As we all know, in any country, the emperor is the supreme voice. Even during The Three Kingdoms period, there were puppet emperors, but they acted in the name of the emperor. But Japan was different. During the shogunate era, everyone seemed to have a place.

Since a country must have a figurehead, the emperor has assumed this role, and his ability to govern is minimal. In Japan, during the shogunate era, which was also the height of a samurai class, they adopted a feudal style of rule.

In the shogunate, he could not only mobilize troops, but also give advice to his own troops. The shogunate could intervene in many things in the court. At the same time, in order to facilitate their own announcements, also set up “three practices”. They were in charge of temple, Treasury, civil affairs. So to speak, it involves all aspects of a country.

In the time of the shogunate, the first shogunate, which is at that time, the emperor of Japan had not yet been overthrown, which means that Japan had two emperors. The power of the Kamakura shogunate, however, exceeded that of the emperor. And as that power grew, so did the emperor’s power.

From this you can see how terrible the power of that general was. At the end of the curtain, the whole society was again divided up by the curtain government. Its main body is divided into: farmers, farmers, workers, business four classes. Among these people, the toji was the most powerful. He was one of the major lords of Japan, responsible for agriculture and commerce.

The lords would send out warriors to help the lords manage the lords, and those who did not obey the lords would be controlled by the warriors. This shows how difficult life was for the common people at that time.

By the late seventeenth century, an economic crisis had engulfed every country in the world. Under this background, the shogunate carried out a series of reforms to deal with this situation, but the results were not obvious. Next, the three pursuers also made up their own ideas. They were ostensibly for the sake of the whole shogunate, but actually for their own interests. This created a crisis throughout the shogunate.

And, as popular protests grow. In order to quell the rebellion, the shogunate spent a lot of money, making his economic pressure more and more intense. Finally, in 1868, the remaining shogunate party was defeated, and the curtain dynasty was over.

Now when we talk about potty culture in Japan, it was in that era that people used a latrine method. This weird bathroom was built in the shogunate. In the eyes of ordinary people, such a bathroom should be reserved for servants, but in reality it is quite the opposite. Only the ladies can use this bathroom.

And this bathroom, 18 meters deep, is even wider. Let us guess for what purpose such a crater was built. Because of the convenience of the toilet, one might think.

In the days of the shogun, his power was great. And the dirt produced by these noble people is naturally noble. So, a huge pit was built here to keep those precious things.

But on the surface, there’s nothing special about the crater. Because it is the most traditional squat, so it does not take into account the women’s excretion. It’s a far cry from the Chinese Cixi.

In order to prevent women from being bitten by mosquitoes, the mosquito repellent incense will be lit in advance near the hut. Do a good job of mosquito control for the ladies. After the mosquito is removed, a new incense stick will be lit and purified. But people who have been to the toilet, but all know, this pit exudes the breath, must be extremely rich.

Therefore, the servant girl in the palace will use the folding fan for the lady to discharge the odor, so that the lady’s life is more comfortable. What if it takes so long that your legs fall asleep? So all the sides of the crater were fenced in. Before the ladies get up, their feet get sore and they fall over.

From this point of view, the shogunate has taken into account everything we can think of. But this is just the appetizer. After the shogun has gone to the toilet, the servants get to work. They would groom and wipe the ladies of the shogunate. Let the ladies go in and out spotless.

This situation, we don’t understand, but in Japan, it is real. Just as many other countries cannot understand what kind of luxury our Chinese Cixi lived at that time. These are the unique cultures of this nation.

Although this tradition has been completely abandoned, it also shows the importance of status in Japan. The culture made sense at the time. Every country has its unique customs, through the study of history, we can have a better understanding of the world.
