As beautiful as a fairy tale, the island of Norway has abolished Time.

In most places on this planet. The inhabitants follow a cycle of living from sunrise to sunset. But the world is so big, and there are so many interesting places in some places, and there are always some lives that are beyond our imagination and beyond the rules and conventions. That’s why people say, “The world is so big, I want to see it.”

I. The “Fairytale World where the Sun Never Sets” where Time stands Still

Among the many places to see the world, the Norwegian island of Somaloi is definitely a place to consider. Because of its beauty and uniqueness, and because of the stagnation of time, it is called the “fairytale world where the sun never sets”. On the west coast of Norway, near the Arctic Circle, there is a place called “Summer Island” is Sommaroy, which is also the world’s famous island without time. Over the years, Sommaroy has attracted year-round tourists from all over the world to enjoy the beauty of time. With its winding coastline, visibility, pure blue skies and snow, Sommaroy is home to a charming collection of fairy tale huts in bright colors.

Moreover, the magnificent Strait is located in an area free from industrial pollution. For visitors entering here for the first time, they often feel as if they have entered a warm fairy tale world with pleasant scenery. More than 300 people live on the island. Since 2019, the residents have signed a special agreement to the international community to abolish time on the island, making it the first small island in the world to have no time limit. People working here rely on their daily biological clock to do their daily work.

2. Residents propose to abolish time

The reason why the abolition of time is proposed is that in ordinary people’s eyes, the sunrise is made, and the sunset is meaningless here. Because Sommaraui Island is located in the Arctic Circle, there will be polar night and polar night phenomenon for nearly half a year. From May 18 to July 26 every year, the sun in Sommaraui Island will never set and will always hang in the sky. The idea that the sun is “always in the sky” means that every morning the sun appears in the east, and then as we get to noon, noon afternoon, it moves south. At noon, the sun will be just due south, and as time goes on it will move westward, but as we get into what we think of as night, the sun starts to move north, At the next zero hour the sun reaches due north and then moves east again, continuously cycling through the sky for 24 hours.

The best place to see the beauty of the aurora

Every year from November to January, for Somar, it’s the six months of aurora, and when polar night comes, you don’t see the sun at all for 24 hours, but you can see, like heaven, like a fairy tale, like a beautiful aurora in the sky, so every year when the aurora comes, There are a large number of tourists who come especially to see the beautiful aurora, and it is probably the best place on Earth to see the aurora clearly.

But such a scene is nothing less than a shocking aesthetic experience for tourists, but for local residents, long in the middle of the night, but easy to produce depressed emotions, so do not like such a long night.

In Somaloy, tourists do as the Romans do. Visitors who come here are entering a short period of “discarding time”, so on the road to Sommaroy, there is now a world-famous bridge, also because of “discarding time” has become unique, over the years the bridge’s railings are now hung with a variety of watches, They are all tourists who come here to play, and in order to prove that they have got rid of the shackles of time and entered the space without time, and deliberately discarded them here.

Now this “time-waster” bridge has become one of the iconic tourist attractions of Sommaroy Island, perhaps from the psychological level, to be able to “forget the shackles of time” is a subconscious appeal in many people’s lives. So on Somroy, time is a meaningless object. And for many people, especially for many western citizens who have been advocating the pursuit of liberalism, they advocate the liberal, romantic and freewheeling life, so most of them will release their pressure after traveling here.
