Speaking of Ulaanbaatar, many people will think of red tourism, and Ulaanbaatar in my impression, is a quiet city, this is my initial impression of this city, when you really walk into Ulaanbaatar, you will find yourself full of unlimited imagination of this city. If Mongolia is the pearl of Asia, then Ulaanbaatar is the core of this pearl. Ulaanbaatar means “white land” in Mongolian language. The reason why it is called white land is because it was once covered with large white grasslands. Today we will talk about Ulaanbaatar.
1. Introduction
Ulaanbaatar is located in the central and western part of Mongolia and is the capital of the Mongolian People’s Republic. Outer Mongolia used to be the largest vassal state of China and is now shared by China and Russia. Outer Mongolia is a republic of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, but because it does not have its own independent legislation and formulate ethnic policies, its autonomy has been enjoyed or threatened by several other countries.
2. History of Ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar has a long history and is one of the oldest cities in the People’s Republic of Mongolia, dating back more than 700 years. During the time of Genghis Khan, Ulaanbaatar belonged to the territory of Genghis Khan. During the Yuan Dynasty, Ulaanbaatar began to be called the “Grand Yuan Capital”. During the Qing Dynasty, Ulaanbaatar became an important political, economic and cultural center. Ulaanbaatar has always occupied an important position in our history. In 1947, Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, was taken as its capital. In 1949, after the Central Revolutionary Government of Mongolia officially declared its founding, Ulaanbaatar was taken as its capital ever since.
3. City impression
Ulaanbaatar is a new city, the city is composed of Ulaanbaatar, Windur Khan, Halahada, Almugjil, Darsurt seven towns. In my impression, Ulaanbaatar is a quiet small city, Ulaanbaatar night no bustling, more no noisy drinking, I like such a night in Ulaanbaatar, quiet and dreamy, sometimes even think: “if the day to play here is good!”
But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t had its share of battles, big and small. In World War II, the entire region was threatened by the German army as it fought behind Soviet lines. Ulaanbaatar was surrounded by the German army, which deployed most of its forces to the west of Halahada, then the largest city in the Soviet Union, in order to protect the last of its land and people. The town of Ulaanbaatar was the last place to see hope and light in the region west of Halahada, but as the Soviet government launched a fierce war to protect the land and people.
4. Tourist attractions
There are also many places worth visiting and not to be missed in Ulaanbaatar, such as the Uryasutai Cultural site and Mongolian Tomb archaeological site, Ulaanbaatar City (formerly known as “Ahriusu”), Genghis Khan Mausoleum and Mongolian Royal Palace, Habchinur Prairie, Mongolian Khan Mausoleum site. The urban style of Ulaanbaatar is very distinctive, which is mainly reflected in the houses on both sides of the streets and the small shops on both sides of the streets. There are two main streets in Ulaanbaatar: the longest street in the People’s Republic of Mongolia is “Old City” Street, which was built in 1907, and the second longest street is “New City” Street.
Ulaanbaatar is quiet at night, but it is a modern and highly urbanized city. It is also the most popular city for Mongolians to live in, and the most important city in their life. We all know that each provincial capital has its own capital, and Ulaanbaatar has long been the political, economic and cultural center of Mongolia. Ulaanbaatar here people are simple, forthright, there is no bustling city fast pace of life, unique flavor, occasionally come out to walk, change the environment and mood, it is also very good!
